Here is a short video I created on my experiences in using the new features in youtube video editing.
Whats new in Youtube videos-
1) My account can now upload more than 15 minutes of video
2) I can edit the videos online without any software at http://www.youtube.com/editor
3) I can also create a video straight from the Web Cam at http://www.youtube.com/my_webcam and http://www.youtube.com/my_videos_edit
4) I thought but eventually decided not to use the Animation features (for free) at
http://goanimate.com/signup ( I can login using my Google Account !)
5) Since I hope to keep my videos seperate- I created a new video at the awesome new features in Blogspot at
http://videosforkush.blogspot.com/ (seperate blog post on that later) and then I just share my videos using the Share feature in Blogspot (big discovery- the Twitter button has been demoted from the share this by you-tube button hierarchy)
5.6) I can preview the features side by side as well
6) I still wish Youtube has some feature to help me capture the screen so I can make training videos at a faster rate so I no longer have to use Camtasia
Video killed the Radio Star- Yup
Heres the final video-
My guest blog at Allanalytics.com is now up
http://www.allanalytics.com/ is the exciting community which looks at the business aspects to the analytics market with a great lineup of pedigree writers.
It is basically a point/counterpoint for and against open source analytics. I feel there is a scope of lot of improvement before open source dominates the world of analytics software like Android, Linux Web Server do in their markets. Part of this reason is – there needs to be more , much more investment in analytics research, development, easier to use interfaces, Big Data integration and rewarding ALL the writers of code regardless of whether the code is proprietary or open source.
A last word- I think open source analytics AND proprietary analytics software will have to learn to live with one another, with game theory dictating their response and counter-response. More competition is good, and open source is an AND option not an OR option to existing status quo.
You can read the full blog discussion at http://www.allanalytics.com/author.asp?section_id=1408&doc_id=233454&piddl_msgorder=thrd#msgs
Hopefully discussion would be more analytical than passionate 🙂 and greater investments in made in analytics by all sides.
A particularly prominent technology blogger ( see http://www.readwriteweb.com/archives/michael_arrington_the_kingmaker_who_would_be_king.php )has now formalized his status as an investor (which he did even before) while relinquishing his editorial duties (which were not much given the blog’s acquisition by AOL and its own formidable line of writers, each one of whom is quite influential). Without going into either sermon mode (thou shall not have conflict of interests) or adulatory mode (wow he sold the blog for 30 mill and now he gets another 20 mill for his funds)- I shall try and present the case for ethics and ethical lapses while as a writer.
I got some good news from the fine people at Predictive Analytics World.
you qualify for 2 free passes to the PAW NYC event October 16-20, 2011. I will be sending you a code to use for registration to receive these passes within the next couple of days.
If you cannot attend our PAW NYC event, please feel free to use these two free passes as a promotional tool within your blog.
Now I have been partnering with PAW for a long time, so it is nice to have free passes. I am grateful for their support of this blog. Therein lies my dilemma. I am in India, and a return ticket from NYC to India costs 1100$. Unless something drastic happens , I dont see myself with that kind of travel money.
Ergo.
I am offering two free passes to Predictive Analytics World . http://predictiveanalyticsworld.com/
All you need to do is – ahem- cough-
AND
What do you get?
One of these –http://www.predictiveanalyticsworld.com/newyork/register.php (details awaited!) to

Assume I am a blogger using both Adsense and Adwords.
Suppose Adwords costs me X dollars per click, and Adsense pays me Y dollars per click.
Then a unique arbitrage opportunity would arise if
Y times CTR on my blog > X times CTR on my Ad Campaign
Is it possible. Theoretically yes? Long Tail of Internet yes.
However since there is a lag of time in which the Rates would converge , the Adsense rate would go lower or Adwords rate would go higher
Is there a tool that you can use to pump keywords with short times arbitrage opportunities , much like trading algols and quants do in finance.
Just asking !
Hint- Its a trick math puzzle 🙂
SAS blogs gets a much needed makeover. Now if only they share some of the social media analytics
some more rather than just social media on analytics 🙂 One of the more professionally designed , managed and
passionate corporate blog series in my opinion
Seriously 27 blogs and not one blog on social media analytics despite
being the leading maker of such software!
